Six Reflector carriers and four Sandusky Register riders toured New York City and the World’s Fair under a buddy system. They visited Times Square Macy’s Trinity Church Greenwich Village Chinatown and described a Buddha room with incense and a drum ritual.

Dr. Sam Sheppard arrived in Chicago from Columbus with Ariane Tebbenjohanns and planned to marry today in a private ceremony. The couple, kept under wraps, were followed by reporters as F. Lee Bailey and others joined the entourage.

Dr Louis P Carabelli Dies in Akron

Dr Louis P Carabelli, 75, Akron dentist and former Norwalk resident, died Friday after a long illness. A Norwalk High School graduate, he helped organize last fall’s first reunion of former Norwalk Hermit and Halcyon Club members. The October reunion at the 40 Winks Motel drew dozens of graduates from the 1910s and early 1920s.

Utilities Workers Reject New Offer

Akron report shows the Utility Workers of America rejecting a tentative contract with Ohio Edison Co. The deal would have retroactively covered July 1 and affected about 1,500 Ohio Edison workers in Akron Youngstown Lorain Toronto Jefferson County Shadyside Belmont County. IBEW also on strike, with talks ongoing but no progress reported and no scheduled meetings until the union executive committee convenes.
