Divers Explore Seneca Caverns in Deep Cave Dive
Two Chicago skin divers Joseph Esposito and Nick Palagas, members of the Chicago 100-foot club, explored the underwater river in Seneca Caverns Bel lvue. They sought a current to prove the underground river exists while Bell, a local geologist, notes the cavern has seven levels with water at 147 feet down.

Explosion theory cited as cause for Surveyor 4 loss of contact
In Pasadena UPI reports an explosion may have destroyed the Surveyor 4 robot just seconds before its planned soft landing on the moon. A Jet Propulsion Laboratory spokesman said radio contact was lost when the craft was seven miles above the moon traveling at 300 miles an hour. In El Paso police say Leonard Snow 48 argued with his wife Saturday and drove the car into a utility pole while driving at about 50 miles per hour. He is in fair condition with internal injuries and lacerations and faces negligent collision charges.

Balloon Flight 13 Mile Dud At Norwalk Airport
R H Turnley of Norwalk reported a failed 13 mile balloon flight from Norwalk airport after heat from sunlit hole in overcast caused the gas to fail. Pilots Don Overs and Dave Hershman landed at Jake Hettle farm after 49 minute flight. next Saturday a new attempt is planned.

Two men report tool box thefts at Norwalk Dragway on Route 18 during a weekend. Richard Maybaugh of Wellington said his toolbox valued at 250 dollars was taken from his car in the pit area around 11 p.m. Saturday. Cloyd Mead of Wakeman RD 2 said his toolbox worth 175 dollars was stolen from the pit area between 10:45 and 11 p.m. Saturday.

Man Who Threatened Judge Returns For Post Conviction Hearing
William Newpauer 24 a former defendant who pled guilty to threatening Huron County Juvenile Court Judge Don J Young is to be returned from Mansfield Reformatory July 25 for a post conviction hearing. Norwalk attorney Walter Hite is appointed to defend him. The 1964 case stemmed from a letter promising harm to the judge if a marriage to a local girl was denied, with threats to use a .45 pistol.
