Re Arrest Move Sought In Samuel Sheppard Case

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor John Corrigan asked Common Pleas Judge Saul Danaceau to issue an arrest order for Dr Samuel Sheppard who was scheduled to be released from Ohio Penitentiary later today Corrigan argued the first degree murder indictment should prevent bail and keep Sheppard behind bars while Walter Weinman had voided the second degree murder conviction calling the 1954 trial a mockery of justice and citing due process violations by the trial officials

Goldwater Named Republican Nominee for President

San Francisco favored choice Barry Goldwater won the GOP nomination on the first ballot with 883 votes. He aimed to reunite the party and began talks with the finance committee and state chairs. Governors Scranton and Rockefeller offered tentative support and praise. Denison Kitchel expected as campaign director and Miller discussed as possible vice president.

Fire at Superior Coach Co. causes minor damage

Norwalk firefighters responded to a blaze at Superior Coach Co. on Garfield and Jefferson around 9 a.m. A short circuit in 440 volt wiring caused the incident. Damage was minor as the sprinkler system operated and officials planned repairs later today.

Viet Cong battle count rises in South Vietnam clashes

Viet Cong guerrillas clashed with government troops in 15 new battles across South Vietnam over the past two days. American spokesmen said air support with 1,034 combat troops shuttled to the region on Wednesday as tensions escalated nationwide.

Roy Cohn Not Guilty Verdict in Perjury and Obstruction Trial

In New York a federal court jury found Roy M. Cohn not guilty on three counts of perjury and four of obstruction of justice. Murray E. Gottesman was acquitted on two counts of perjury. The verdict led to cheers at the defense table after a second trial for both men following a mistrial in the first.
