Huron County is listed among 57 Ohio counties eligible to receive money from the 279.9 million capital improvements bill for airport work though no firm plans exist. The funds may be used for existing airports but not land purchases.
Police reported a late night break in at the Wakeman Servicenter on Route 20. About $22 was stolen from a desk after entry through a west side window. Owner Aaron Steinwagner found the scene. fingerprints were lifted and sent to the state crime bureau in London.

Dr. Samuel H. Sheppard's attorney plans to file in federal court to keep him free on bond while appealing his wife staying conviction to the U.S. Supreme Court. The 6th Circuit yesterday refused to reconsider its May 5 decision and release to prison. Attorney Benjamin L. Clark will file the appeal papers and argue for bond, opposed by Ohio Attorney General William Saxbe. The notice of appeal is due by next Wednesday.
The court will decide if Sheppard may stay free during Supreme Court review. An appeal to the high court would take months. Saxbe said he would seek a higher bond, potentially raising the $10,000 figure, if release on bond is allowed.
NASA's Mariner 4 began transmitting the first close up Martian image from its Mars flyby. Officials said the first tape data shows a likely picture and full image data will take hours to complete.
Adlai Stevenson died in London from a heart attack and his body was flown to Washington on Johnsons plane. Vice President Humphrey and Stevenson family accompanied the body as dignitaries paid respects at the U S Embassy in London before the journey home. Funeral service planned at the National Cathedral in Washington.
A box containing a single jigsaw valued about 30 dollars arrived at the home of Charles H. Roberts at 3 30 a.m. Roberts heard a light rap on his door, saw a crew cut man who vanished, and police are investigating the source of the mysterious gift.
Flora Ramon of Cortland filed larceny charges in Mayor's Court against Richard Arthur Hahler for items valued at about five dollars. The items listed include two velvet wash cloths two towels a pie dish and a set of keys. A hearing is set for 8 p.m. tonight.
