Five former counselors sue over public employee status
Five former Mental Health Center counselors filed suit in Huron County Common Pleas Court against County Auditor Kenneth Reed, the 648 Board and Director Robert Klenk. They seek a ruling that they are public employees entitled to benefits under Ohio law and demand injunctions plus court costs and attorney fees. The suit alleges employment continuity prior to July 1 and that they were paid by state funds and local levies, with vacation pay overdue and status not properly certified. It names Marsha Hendrickson, Patricia Cragg, Donald Leake, Bruce McCrillis, and Steve Kochis and notes hours owed. The hearing is requested for July 24 before referee Robert McKown.
