Norwalk Board Adopts Budget Far Above Expected Income
The Norwalk Board of Education adopts a 3.8 million dollar budget for 1978, about 623000 over anticipated income. Supt. James Rubright says trimming will be required to align with an estimated 3.2 million revenue, while noting the need to educate students and maintain operations. He cites rising costs, a four mill levy, and delayed income gains from state foundation payments as pressures. The plan shows 2.24 million for staff, 138000 for administration, and other allocations. Boiler replacements at Bronson Elementary are urged after an insurer flagged a risk.
