Hall of fame pitcher Jerome Dizzy Dean, 64, was admitted Friday to a California hospital in South Lake Tahoe for observation after experiencing chest pains while playing golf. He was reported doing well. doctors would not confirm a heart attack.
President Nixon signed a law extending GI educational benefits for Vietnam era and peacetime veterans and their spouses. Vietnam era veterans now have ten years to apply, with a May 31 1976 deadline for those who left service eight or more years ago.

New York welfare department claims about five thousand dollars of a ten thousand NJ Lottery win by Nicholas Zabol unpaid since 1971. Sidney Lane of the New York Human Resources Administration says the agency seeks repayment to reach an amicable settlement. Zabol, 55, who had received nine thousand dollars in welfare, comments on paying if required.
