Hemenway Fund Given To Scholars
Norwalk High School class of 1970 voted to donate proceeds from the John Hemenway Fund to the Dollars for Scholars program. Mr and Mrs Hemenway approved, $2,227 was given to Dale Olsen, treasurer. Julie Arlin organized a canvass after Hemenway was injured in the July 4 1969 storm and later died.

Fire Triggers Power Outage at Lakeshore Plant Cleveland
A self contained fire at the Lakeshore Generating Plant shut parts of Greater Cleveland from 10 05 p m until power was largely restored by midnight The outage affected garbage workers on strike amid wage talks and CTS management planned a meeting with the Amalgamated Transit Union as the eight day walkout continued.

UPI reported that the FTC told Coca-Cola to pay $100 to many contestants, but the action was a tentative complaint awaiting further steps. Coca-Cola and Glendinning claim 831 winners. FTC says additional winners did not receive prizes due to a secret rule.

Kennedy Jr. Falls From Tree Near Kennedy Compound
Robert Kennedy Jr. aged 17 fell about 25 feet from a tree near the Kennedy compound in Hyannis fracturing his wrist. He was found dazed by Patrolman McKenna and taken to Cape Cod Hospital where officials said he was in fine condition and to be released the next day. He told a family doctor he climbed the tree to retrieve his pet falcon. the bird was not found.
