GM to raise prices up to 300 dollars on cars this summer
GM plans price increases up to 6 percent on cars and light trucks for the 1976 models, with dealers noting the rise could trigger a late summer buying surge. Executives cite unrecovered costs from inflation, material and labor expenses, and three years of price controls as justification. Some dealers expect August and September sales to rise before the new models debut.
