Service News Promoted on Navy Fleet Oilers and Training
Mrs. Marjory F. Smith of Bellevue was promoted June 25 aboard the Navy fleet oiler USS Elokomin operating out of Norfolk Virginia. Promotion based on service time rate military appearance performance of duties and a passing score on the Navy wide examination for advancement in rate. Richard L. Ellis and Edward J. Miller are undergoing fleet training aboard the USS Wasp in the Caribbean. Wasp leads an anti submarine Hunter Killer group with surface sub surface and air units to find and destroy enemy submarines.
