The Fourth of July parade begins at 10 30 a m Wednesday at Wooster and East Main Streets, marching west on Main then south on Benedict and Norwood Avenues to the fairgrounds. Train slams into W. L. Mead truck at Monroeville crossing
William M. Snow, 36, is hospitalized in satisfactory condition after a Norfolk and Western train struck his W. L. Mead tractor-trailer on Monroe Street Ohio 547. The crash, at 5 25 p m, sent debris across both lanes, damaged utilities and forced Ohio 547 to be blocked about five hours. Three nearby children narrowly escaped injury as cargo flew from the truck. Police investigate. Snow remained on scene then walked to an awaiting ambulance.

Bridge collapse injures truck driver near Weirton
An Ohio man, Kenneth Zufall, 39, Canton, is in satisfactory condition after a Conrail bridge collapsed under his tractor trailer in Weirton, West Virginia. He suffered a broken leg and finger, internal injuries, and lacerations, and spent 45 minutes in the wreckage before rescue crews freed him. He works for Colliers Steel Corp. The unposted bridge was demolished and collapsed with the truck about 20 to 25 feet.
