Robert Litten, 17, of Toledo dies from apparent asphyxiation after a candle ignited a plastic tape player and cartridges during a power outage. Friends had lit candles overnight and left before dawn Thursday.
Pulitzer winner James A. Michener donates 100000 to Kent State University School of Art to fund 20 additional artworks. The gift creates the James A. Michener Art Collection and follows his Kent State report on the 1970 disorders and student deaths.
Cleveland Cavaliers say No. 1 pick Austin Carr will wear a cast on his right foot for six weeks after a hairline fracture suffered during a pickup game in New York.
