Willard Council to discuss commercial light rates

Willard Ohio officials including Roy W. Ganfield and other chamber leaders expect to attend Monday night’s Willard City Council session. The meeting will review an ordinance to lower commercial power rates at the municipal plant with a second reading and possible adoption. The measure may create lower and higher rates due to a new demand meter provision. The school finance study committee met twice to study revenue sources and plans a November operating levy. A 0.96 mill levy is needed for a new junior high and 3.70 mills more to support staff, libraries, and textbooks. Willard also earned a national pedestrian safety award for 13 years without a casualty.
