New London Schools Seek Hearing On Liquor Permit
The New London Board of Education asked the Ohio Department of Liquor Control for a hearing on the D-2 liquor permit filed by Andrew Biro owner of the Wonderbar. Officials learned classes were held within 500 feet of the tavern and requested formal notification to allow comment. The initial hearing was prompted by church protests led by Rev. Floyd Gangler and Rev. Donald McKenzie. Biro and Dale Jacksons sought permits following a Nov 5 vote permitting some beer and liquor sales. The Jacksons’ permit hearing was canceled after they sold to Edward and Mrs. Farnsworth who must file anew.
