Holden Receives Glenwood Prefix for Holstein Herd

Joe H. Holden of North Fairfield earns exclusive use of the Glenwood prefix for all Registered Holstein cattle bred in his herd. The Holstein Friesian Association of America adds the prefix to its official breed records at Brattleboro Vermont. Each year nearly 1500 prefixes are reserved and over 42000 new on file names are used to distinguish home bred cattle. Reservation and use of prefixes became an active membership requirement in 1965. The prefix creates a trade mark for published performance information about his dairy animals.
