Sixth Grade Band Performs for Parents in Greenwich
Six grade band students from North Fairfield Elementary and Greenwich Intermediate, directed by Ronald Zoz, played for the South Central Music Parents Organization. The group plans a March 1 dinner fundraiser for the Huron County Cattle Feeders Association and donated $30 to the South Central High School Modern Music Masters chapter. Upcoming events include a mid winter band concert February 11 and an April 28 chorus operetta.

Ohio oil wells show 165 completions in December Newark
Newark Ohio 165 wells were completed in December per the Scout Report of the Ohio Oil and Gas Association. Of these 121 were producers and 44 dry holes, versus 64 last month and 158 a year ago. Completions year to date total 1 393 and 159 new well permits were issued finishing 1966 with 1 513 permits. Current drillings stand at 117, including 93 cable tool and 24 rotary rigs.

Plea Guilty in Huron County Destruction Case
Mike Lee Cole, 29, of Shelby, pleaded guilty in Huron County Common Pleas Court to malicious destruction of property. He was ordered to restitution and probation, with a condition to stay out of Huron County for one year.

Representatives of Synder Tank Corp Bleacher Division and Standard Steel Corp discussed permanent bleachers for the SC High football field. Details include 42 foot elevated front 2 foot walkway 15 rows high 102 feet long seating about 1,000 with an under-structure for a press box.
