Prisoner Attacked in Huron County Jail Suspects Sexual Assault
Ronald D. Rust, 18, of Willard, treated at Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital after an early morning assault by fellow inmates at Huron County Jail. Deputies say sexual assault is suspected and expect charges after the investigation. Rust has been in jail since Saturday. 27 prisoners are housed there near capacity.

Outbreak of Jail Break Spurs Patrols in Port Clinton
Ottawa County sheriff’s officers said two young men considered dangerous escaped from the 80 year old county jail Sunday night. The break wasn’t detected for 24 hours and marks the first escape since 1957. The mother of one escapee alerted police after talking by phone.
