Bellevue man charged after stabbing wife in trailer home
Dennis Hawk 29, a Cleveland man, is held in Huron County jail on charges of stabbing with intent to kill after a Bellevue incident. He claimed the wife stabbed herself during a struggle over his pocket knife while they watched television in a trailer, and officers noted both women and men offered conflicting statements. Bellevue police reported a 9 27 p m stabbing in a car outside the trailer while the wife babysat. The wife sustained chest and back wounds. arraignment listed Pleas Court.

Sixth Grader Breaks Collarbone at School Gym
A sixth grade student at League Street School broke his collarbone during a gym class tumbling drill around 10 30 a m. Stanley Beaven was treated at Sandusky Memorial Hospital, released, and placed in a cast. The injury occurred while diving over classmates on tumbling mats under supervision.

Youth Held For Falsifying Age In Norwalk
A 17 year old Norwalk youth who allegedly faked his birth date on a driver’s license to buy beer will be cited into Huron County Juvenile Court. Police picked him up at Friendly Corners tavern after the manager suspected the license was altered. The youth claimed he was 18.

Area Woman Enters Plea in Fatal Traffic Case
A Sandusky woman Helen M. Meade pleaded not guilty in Huron County Common Pleas Court to a traffic man slaughter charge from a secret indictment. The death of Leo C. Maschari occurred on November 19. Meade was released on bond and trial was set for February 23.

Break-In At Pine Bar Near Wakeman Reported
The Pine Bar on Route 20 east of Wakeman was robbed early Friday. Designer Boris Trycoff, owner, found the theft at 9:30 am after the tavern closed at 2 am. About 80 in change and 15 in cash were taken, plus three coin machines broken into and cigarettes removed.
