Carson to Move Tonight Show to California in Spring
NBC-TV confirmed Johnny Carson will move the Tonight Show from New York to Burbank California for a Monday through Friday 90 minute program. The West Coast broadcasts begin May 1 with periodic New York visits, replacing Merv Griffin’s late night slot and leaving Cavett in New York.

Alaska oil pipeline may start in a year officials say
