Four fluorescent light fixtures fell and shattered in a city kindergarten class at night prompting a safety inspection at Pleasant Street School. Building supervisor Robert Kramer says fixtures will be rebolted through floor and ceiling, with costs estimated at 150 to 200 dollars.
Three accidents were investigated by the Norwalk Post of the State Highway Patrol on Monday. Beverly L. Timb 24 of Wakeman was cited for failure to stop within a safe distance after backing into a parked car on Thame Street Wakeman. Richard C. Bores 22 of Monroeville was charged with failure to drive on the right side after his car went off Washington Road near Norwalk. A dog was killed when Dora M. Bauer 50 of New London struck Route 162 west of New London after noon.

Rep. Robert Taft Jr. urges Sen. William J. Fulbright to resign as chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations committee, arguing that the constitution does not grant a right to sow disunity during a time of danger.
Congressmen from both parties defended General William C Westmoreland against charges he deluded Congress on Vietnam war progress The praise came in House speeches and interviews after Rep Margaret Heckler accused him of presenting too optimistic results Laird said responsibility lay with President Johnson Rusk and McNamara not Westmoreland
Rep. George Mahon says efforts at home and abroad including the Communist press aim to discredit Gen. Westmoreland. He praises the general for a difficult task in Vietnam and warns against expecting only success under covert attack circumstances. Rep. Joe Waggonner supports the general and administration, noting not all facts can be revealed for military reasons.
Susan Reamer an 18 year old office secretary won the $50 first prize for perfect score in the Norwalk contest identifying local business owners and employees. Sandie Dillingham finished second with $25 and Mrs Dean Hales placed third. Johnson peace talks claim noted amid Viet Nam bombings and a reported emissary visit to Hanoi.
A Norfolk and Western rail line worker, Arthaniel Dick Taylor, 57, of Prospect Virginia, is in Bellevue Hospital with a neck wound after a fellow crew member, Russell Jennings Jr., 42, of Crew Virginia, allegedly stabbed him in a camp car in the railroad yards near Bellevue. Jennings is in Huron County jail on charges of stabbing with intent to wound as detectives question witnesses. The assault was reported to Bellevue police at 11:40 p.m. Monday.

From North Fairfield Gary L Eastman Paul G Sallee Ernie Sallee. From New London Anthony K Kirkpatrick Edward L Harris. From Willard John E Rice Sonny Haney Arnold A Holmer. Also included: Keith er Bayer Mark P Fisher Thomas A Retallic Raymond W Ries. Carol Ann Leroux 20 of 16 Baker St charged with grand larceny for ring clothing and change taken from Mrs. Sowders 72 Jefferson St babysitting earlier Friday. Leroux held in Huron County jail.
A four woman panel of Huron County child welfare and guidance experts answered questions at a Norwalk BPW event. They said single parent adoptions are not allowed in Ohio and that unwed mothers cannot be pressured to give up babies. Panelists noted young teens face more reluctance to allow adoption and discussed foster care qualifications and monthly child caseloads.
