Composer conductor Percy Faith died Monday at Valley Presbyterian Hospital after a cancer illness. He was 68 and had joined the Canadian Broadcasting Corp in 1934 and later directed Carnation radio in Chicago in 1940. Faith became a familiar name on many big radio programs.
Preliminary Agriculture Department figures show Americans spent 17.1 percent of take home pay on food in 1975, up from 16.9 percent in 1974. The estimates are tentative and may be revised, marking the second consecutive year of rising food inflation.

Marian C. Filip a 49 year old Norwalk area resident has taken out petitions to run for Huron County Commissioner for the January 3 1977 term. If she files she would be the counties first woman candidate in this office and faces possible primary competition from fellow Republicans Dale Immel Frank V. Smith and Dale V. Stearns. Democrat James E. Seitz is also circulating petitions. Filip assists her husband in a water conditioning business and has lived in the county 31 years with two sons and twin granddaughters.
In a poll of over 34 000 museum visitors in Columbus Kennedy tops the list as the nation’s favorite leader with more than 3 800 votes about 11 percent of total since the exhibit opened in October at the Center of Science and Industry.
The Norwalk Board of Education convenes at 8 PM at the board offices located at Monroe and Hester Streets to discuss district matters.
In Huron County, a coin flip decided which insurer would cover county vehicles after two bids from Bache and Associates of Norwalk and Dale Stearns of Willard both quoted 6 547. State Automobile Mutual Insurance Co. Prosecutor William Owens supervised the process as Chairman Maurice Smith flipped the coin during a meeting on indigent defense fees with witnesses and reporters present.
