Willard May Face Court For 134 Acre Water Site

Willard City may condemn 134 acres for a water reservoir after owners Le land Stein rejected the city’s offer. City Manager Keith Armstrong said soil tests and drillings will be conducted at the Route 61 site three miles south of town if engineers deem it suitable. Stein had sought 700 per acre and argued the land’s value reflects nearby farming, buildings, and potential profits from larger holdings. Condemnation action could follow if the land is found admissible for the reservoir.
