Time To Break Habit Ends Tree Levy In Norwalk Politics
Norwalk council debated renewing a half mill tree removal levy and a .9 mill police levy. Shipley opposed renewals, urging tax trimming while noting stronger municipal revenue. The tree levy was dropped and the police levy to appear on the ballot. Budget shifts included street resurfacing, sidewalk work, hydrants, and a brush chopper purchase. A Linwood Avenue Bridge project and sewer assessment actions were scheduled with a hearing Feb 15.

Norwalk City Council quiet week and quick repairs
Norwalk council met with light activity as only the Garfield Avenue widening sparked nerves. Parking rules on main routes will be enforced in snow emergencies and 45 fire hydrants are planned this summer along with planned sidewalk work and a revised building code.
