Angelina Alioto, wife of Mayor Joseph Alioto, telephoned late Monday to say she was safe after being missing a week. She was last seen at a Palm Springs resort. The mayor’s office withheld details of the call and its origin.
John Glenn charges the Ohio Democratic Party with spending 250000 of his raised funds to aid hand picked candidates including U S Sen Howard Metzenbaum in the May primary He made the statement while filing his U S Senate candidacy petitions with Secretary of State Ted W Brown He said it was the start of a fighting campaign.
Rep. Wayne Hays rails at Energy chief William Simon and deputy John Sawhill accusing them of offering no relief from the gasoline shortage while prices are urged to rise. He calls for impeachment of Simon, citing the energy crisis and public frustration.
