Sandusky Teen Admits Blackmail Motive In Killings
James M. Damante, 18, of Sandusky, confessed to police that he killed two brothers, Mark Ridgeway, 16, and Marshall Ridgeway, 14, claiming they blackmailed him for about $1,000. He lured them to a grassy area on New Year’s Day. Mark was stabbed 32 times and Marshall 48 times.

Beer jailed after demanding to sit out fines
Richard E Beer 19 of 204 Whittlesey Ave was jailed Wednesday after asking to sit out a $126 fine for disorderly conduct resisting arrest and property damage. He allegedly called officers abusive, kicked a desk and assaulted an officer during jailing. He faces new charges of assault and aggravated menacing with court dates set. Mario Ramos 20 of 356 Bouscau Apts was arrested for failure to pay a $135 fine and $50 bond after police stopped him near Elm and Maple.

Two County Men Sentenced In Huron Court
In Huron County Common Pleas Court on Wednesday two men received prison sentences. Lucas Wolery, 18, of 20B Key Estates, drew two to five years in the Mansfield State Reformatory after probation violation tied to December burglaries. He earned 29 days credit for time in jail. Steve Kimberly, 20, of Willard, got six months to five years for a theft at Hi Ho Restaurant in Willard, tied to a November escape attempt while on Hancock County probation.
