The Anti-Defamation League released a year long study accusing the John Birch Society of promoting Jew hatred by admitting vocal anti-Semites. The group argues the society’s stance undermines civil rights efforts while highlighting concerns about inclusion.
In Cleveland a 15-year-old student was detained at the juvenile detention center after allegedly striking teacher Stephen Jennings, 27, in the head at Rawlings Junior High School while being escorted for intoxication.
William E. Flax a Cincinnati lawyer and John Birch Society member will face Robert Taft Jr in the May Republican primary for Congress from the 1st District. Flax who was previously a Democrat announced his belief his views align more with district voters than Taft.

Mayor Harold Finch will present policy questions on investment of inactive city funds to the Norwalk City Council after a three hour Mayors office session with City Auditor Charles Hipp Treasurer Lewis McLaughlin and Solicitor Fred Waugh. The group says no decisions were made beyond council taking control of how much active or inactive cash exists and how it should be invested as cash accounts have been consolidated from more than twenty to three in two banks.
President Johnson asks Congress for 3.4 billion in fiscal 1967 aimed at Vietnam and self help nations. Economic aid totals 2.4 billion with 917 million for military aid. Major item is 550 million for Viet Nam to back village and social programs.
The winter storm dropped 8 to 12 inches in parts of Ohio with the heaviest snowfall below US 40 and 2 to 4 more inches expected in northern regions. Temperatures remained well below freezing as state authorities mobilized equipment to keep roads open and Cincinnati halted parking on 74 major streets.
Fire swept a house on Route 61 near Route 6401 causing almost total destruction of the downstairs. Oliver Sherwood Jr was not at home. The blaze began in a rear shed and spread to the kitchen and lower rooms. Mrs Williams reported smoke from the chimney and back of the house.
About 125 divisional employees of New Departure Hyatt Bearings Division GM will move here from eastern locations between June and August. The group includes administrative engineering and sales staff forming the second relocation wave from Connecticut and New Jersey. Over 100 accounting staff were moved here last June.
