Navy Seaman recruit Kurt J. Wargo son of Mr and Mrs Thomas J Wargo of New London completed eight weeks of recruit training at Naval Training Center Orlando Fla He studied general military subjects and is eligible for three hours of college credit in physical education and hygiene Wargo joined the Navy in October 1978 Airman Robert A Wagner son of Mr and Mrs Robert L Wagner Milan has been assigned to Sheppard Air Force Base Texas after basic training at Lackland AFB He earned credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force and will receive training in communications He is a 1978 Edison High School graduate Airman Brent L Walden son of Mrs Deloris J Lemons has been selected for technical training at Sheppard AFB Texas in aircraft maintenance after basic training at Lackland AFB He earned credits toward an associate in applied science degree through the Community College of the Air Force and is a 1978 New London High School graduate.

Didn’t Arrest After Cancer Stricken Pot Dealer Death
Joan Sokel, 37, fed and sheltered her 14 year old daughter by selling marijuana to pay medical bills and support Denise. Troopers raided her Lockhart home after an undercover buyer paid 40 dollars for marijuana but did not arrest due to her illness. Sokel died last week. Denise is homeless and in need of a foster home.

Monroeville Car Motorcycle Crash Injures Man
David VanFleet 25 of Route 20 west of Monroeville is in satisfactory condition at Fisher Titus Hospital after a 4:30 p.m. Friday crash on U.S. 20 at Broad Street when his motorcycle was struck by an eastbound car turning left. Otto J. Grell 66 was cited for failing to yield. A separate Norwalk crash sent Blanche Clark 32 to Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital after a ditch and culvert impact on Jefferson Street. Stanley Smith 17 was cited for reckless operation and driving while suspended after a 2:33 a.m. stop. Randall Flack 18 and Jeffrey Ross 23 were injured when Flack’s car hit a tree on River Road north of Monroeville. William Kessler 25 of Monroeville was treated after a one-vehicle crash on Everingin Road.
