Norwalk 72 Year in Review Highlights Local Growth and Tragedy

Norwalk's 1972 featured a shuttered Countrywide Theatres reopening by Leonard Jefferson and a Norwalk Shopping Center expansion with Mason's Department Store. The year saw airport franchise disputes, county office moves, retiring treasurer Harold Collier, and a busy election for county offices. Major court rulings, bomb hoaxes, local shootings, traffic fatalities, and a green push with a new Christie Lane School marked the era.
