Norwalk fire units rushed to Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital Wednesday night after a wrong reset key triggered a non fire alarm during routine testing. Fire Capt. David Caprara said the light left on the master panel caused the error and no damage occurred as a second wave of responders arrived for a drill.
George Holtz Jr invents an electric car pre heater to warm the engine before startup. A time switch or manual control activates a heater element powered by the car battery. Two thermostats prevent overheating and cold water circulation. Holtz paid $1,000 to Raymond Lee Organization for research and development and seeks licensing or sale. His patent is pending. Raymond D. Spangler, age 18, of 10242 Newton Street, pleaded not guilty in Common Pleas Court to cashing a forged $25 check. Norwalk police arrested him after a $25 check was cashed at Jo and Ed's Carryout at 155 Whittlesey Avenue, with payment halted by the bank. Katherine L. Kinsman of 74 Newton Street reported the missing check and her purse. police say Spangler claimed he found the check and endorsed and cashed it.
