Harold B. Collier, Republican county treasurer since 1941, retires Jan. 1 after a record tenure in Huron County. County Postpones Homestead Filing Date in Huron County
Huron County Auditor Kenneth W. Reed announced a postponement of the homestead exemption filing start to March 1 due to possible law changes and office workload. Applications run Jan 2 to June 4, 1973, with Reed noting the shorter period could aid elderly applicants and reduce need for multiple trips. Verna Williams will assist those unable to apply in person after March 1.
