The Huron County Budget Commission approved six items including the 1977 tax rates as calculated, estimated resources for 1978 subdivisions, intangible tax library allocations, local government allocations, the 1978 general health district budget, and real estate parcel composite factors. The panel is made up of Auditor Kenneth W. Reed Treasurer John Arthur and Prosecutor Richard Hauser. The 1978 organizational meeting is set for January 9 in Reed’s office.
A 27 year old Greenwich man Thomas H Stoddard was treated and released from Providence Hospital after a single vehicle crash on Berlin Road near Hill Road. He was cited for reckless operation after the car left the road, struck a pole and rolled over. Other local incidents included minor accidents on U S 6 Ohio 162 and Old State Road with several cited for following too close and driving under the influence.
