Norwalk man pleads no contest to assault in rape case
Charles S. Martin 28 of 19 2 Adams Sr. was sentenced in Common Pleas Court after pleading no contest to assault and battery for a May rape of a 20 year old Norwalk woman. He received six months in jail, a $200 fine, and costs with all but six days suspended. Four other men received probation or shorter terms in separate cases including stabbing, drug possession, and burglary.

Multiple crashes injure drivers on county roads in Ohio
In Norwalk and nearby towns, several drivers were injured or lightly hurt after cars slid on ice and struck poles or opponents. Dale Walters 18 received minor injuries after leaving the road on New State Road near Peru Olena Road. Doreen Lortcher 40 was rear ended on U.S. 20 east of the bypass. Michael Riggleman 20 was cited for failure to stop in an assured clear distance. Charles Cavalier 18 lost control near a semi truck. Robert Newman 45 was uninjured after his car left U.S. 20 west of Monroeville. Authorities reported multiple minor accidents with no major injuries.
