South Central High marks early Christmas with rings for juniors and individual senior pictures. A 1 15 p.m. assembly features Mrs Tressler's class and the chorus directed by Ronald Zoz, lighting candles and carols. Elementary parties follow after lunch, dismissal at 2 p.m. and a 10 day vacation starting Monday Jan 3.

Navy air crewman returns to San Diego after Oriskany deployment
Service Aerographer's Mate Second Class Thomas M. Schmitz of Monroeville is back in San Diego to report aboard the attack carrier USS Oriskany. The ship completed a record-breaking Seventh Fleet deployment in the South China Sea.

Oriskany launches record combat sorties and ordnance
News Oriskany's aircraft flew 12 070 combat sorties in six and one half months off the coast of Vietnam. This is more than any carrier has launched in a single combat deployment, including World War II and Korea. Her aircraft dropped 8 473 tons of ordnance on communist targets.

Willard youths plead not guilty in grand larceny case
In Huron County Common Pleas Court Thurl Stover, 19, and Kenneth Allen, 18, pleaded not guilty to grand larceny and were held on 1000 cash or 2000 property bond. They were arrested Saturday night by the Sheriff’s Department for allegedly stealing cash, two snow tires, tools, oil and gasoline from Willard Frame and Alignment Service in Willard, owned by Roland Anthony. The items were valued at 100 and the theft occurred December 11.
