Nan Farmer, 31 Stoutenburg Drive, walking on Norwood Avenue toward downtown Saturday morning, was bitten on the right calf by a German Shepherd type dog that ran with two others. Police found the dog at 65 Woodlawn Avenue and ordered confinement for observation.
Kevin Tanzillo reports that Raymond Red Lescher will head Norwalk’s new Sanitation Department when municipal garbage service begins. He expects the title of working foreman or superintendent and will drive one of two new garbage trucks while hiring five of 30 applicants. Routes include 10 daily pickups, with holiday shifts and a backyard list for each truck. Lescher, previously with the street department for 12 years, lives with his wife Carol at 6 Erie St. and has two children, Sally and David.
Marine Cpl. Randy L. Collins, son in law of Mr and Mrs Danny Buckingham of Willard, was promoted while serving at the Marine Corps Base Cherry Point. A 1970 Plymouth High School graduate, he joined the Marine Corps in September 1971.
Clinton Warner, a 23 year old Norwalk High School teacher who resigned last fall citing his mild manner, is now teaching industrial arts in a Jamaican high school after returning to Titusville Pennsylvania and working in a furniture factory. The Norwalk Board of Education noted his resignation letter and his past Peace Corps service in Jamaica. Warner had taught mechanical drawing and woodworking and had previously studied at California State College class of 1972.
