City Council Set To Act On $74 000 Pay Raise
Norwalk City Council plans to act Thursday on a $74,000 increase adding to the payroll of about 110 municipal workers, with raises ranging from six to 39 percent. Police Chief Hilson criticized a 10 percent raise for officers amid prior higher department salaries, while starting policemen earn $6,000 a year. The present payroll totals $625,000. the new ordinance would raise total pay by $74,000.
