Salvation Army leaders Dennis and Mrs Blanchard oversee a nationwide kettle campaign and letter appeal in Hudson County. Donations fund food baskets toys and clothing with hopes to surpass last year’s 121 baskets as kettles lag.
The State Board of Education approved a plan to build a vocational school serving Huron Erie and Ottawa counties. The project costs about 4.83 million dollars with bonds and millage plans including 0.72 mill for the issue and 1.22 mills operating levy. The facility will draw students from 15 districts, house up to 2,153 pupils and employ 77 instructors.
The Citizens National Bank of Norwalk received the Good Citizenship Award from the Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges. The 34 colleges in the Foundation honor public spirit and commitment to free enterprise in commerce and education.
