Norwalk Area United Fund Announces Board Election
Ten candidates run for five board seats in the Norwalk Area United Fund election. Voting runs today through 3 p.m. December 26 at downtown ballot boxes or by clipping the newspaper ballot and mailing to Box 134 Norwalk. Eligible voters contributed at least $1. Nominees include Harold Woodward Russell Fisher William Young Mrs Bernard Freeman William Catalano Joseph Geoghan Mrs A P Sheehan Nino Camardese Mrs C B Thomas Socrates Delianides.

Eighteen students from St. Paul and Norwalk High Schools painted 32 panes of glass at Fisher-Titus Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Margaret Christy supervised the arts and crafts competition with cash prizes. First place won by Chris Waldorf for a Madonna and baby. second by Shirley McGuckin for a train. third by Debbie Worcester for the holy family.

Multiple icy crashes reported across Norwalk area
The highway patrol logged many ice related accidents on Tuesday on U S 224 and U S 20 near Norwalk and Willard. Drivers include Jack S Oliver Biagio Fontana Sarah Timms Thomas Zuk Sue Carroll Kevin Smith and others. One driver injured New London and Belmont residents cited for unsafe stopping speed. A Boston man James Taylor suffered minor injuries after being dragged by a van with his hair caught in a shaft.
