Doctor Armstead Convicted in 1964 Illegal Abortion Case
Dr. Abraham Armstead, 77, was found guilty in Mahoning County Common Pleas Court of performing an illegal abortion on a Cleveland woman in July 1964. Maxine Buntman testified that Armstead performed the operation and had previously settled a civil suit with her. She said he claimed to have aborted many prominent people over the years.

Mrs. Dulcie Case 56 of Townline Road Willard died Monday after an extended illness at Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital. She was born in Fitchville and moved from Oberlin in 1951. Survived by son Buddy Lewis, two grandchildren, sister Maude Sheldon, and nephew George Gannett. Burial at North Fairfield Cemetery after private services. Mrs. Winifred Carper 78 of Willard died Monday at Gaumont Nursing Home Norwalk. Born in Waterloo Indiana she lived in Willard 44 years and was in Evangelical United Brethren Church. Survived by son Robert, daughters Faye Broadhead and Fern Sugamire, three sisters, one brother, seven grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren. Funeral 2 p.m. Wednesday Fink Funeral Home. service 1:30 p.m. Thursday. Burial Greenwood Cemetery.
