Homes assured of gas despite shortages in Ohio

Marvin E. White president of Columbia Gas of Ohio and Ohio Valley Gas Co testified before the Senate Ways and Means Committee that residential and critical gas users would not lose service now or in the future. He warned industrial users would be curtailed to protect domestic demand as Southwest oil supplies decline 23 percent over five years. Synthetic gas, LNG from Algeria, and Alaska sources are planned to offset the loss, with restrictions likely through 1980 and higher costs for new supplies.
