UW researchers infect infant mice with botulism spores to explore infant botulism as a potential cause of crib death. Sugiyama notes infants lack gut bacteria to suppress toxin formation. adults show resistance. While California studies found toxin in crib death victims, a definite link remains unproven.

Mr and Mrs Lisle Chandler Jr of New London observed their silver anniversary with a Miami Beach trip. They wed November 28 1953 in Flemingsburg Kentucky. The couple has four children Robert Steve Curt Lisa and three grandchildren. Chandlers work at Ohio Body Mfg Co and New London Hospital respectively.
