Huron County Board Marks Year Amid Snow and Change
Helen Woodworth resigns from the Huron County Board of Mental Health and Retardation after eight years, receiving a farewell gift. William W. Owens becomes president, Loretta Miller vice president, Joanne Nelson secretary, and Socrates Delianides treasurer. Dr. Timothy Moritz predicts growth of community based care as most mental health services shift from institutions. Owens notes renewed vigor among board members and cites a recent murder trial outcome involving a former attorney.

Greenwich Considers Higher Water Rates to Fund Plant
A Greenwich village council letter from Squire, Sanders and Dempsey says funding a new $1 million water treatment plant may require higher user rates. Options include unvoted and voted bonds or mortgage revenue debt, but gaps remain. The panel weighs additional water sources, including buying from New London, and approves a first reading to split the water power and lights post.
