Big Items Available At Corporate Garage Sales
The National Industrial Salvage Conference connects firms like DuPont Cyanamid Allied Chemical Monsanto for selling surplus machinery and even buildings. Bruce O Connell of Cyanamid explains how investment recovery nets about 1 million dollars yearly by moving idle equipment between plants and selling or repurposing buildings. A Linden plant breakdown was avoided by relocating a similar machine from Bound Brook, and a Wallingford project saved 153000 by selling gear for 100000 and remodeling the site. Unused equipment is donated to colleges, while scrap buyers dismantle entire buildings for steel and concrete. A Pearl River Lederle bus was sold to Callaway Gardens in Georgia for 15000.
