Norwalk Planning Commission unanimously approves preliminary plans for 61 apartments on Executive Drive. The panel seeks an extra fire hydrant, storm drainage, recreation facilities, extended drive, and wider streets for emergency access. Final plans to City Council. Deeble partners with locals to build on a 12 acre site between churches. rents run 145 to 190 dollars. The commission also backs city purchase of 17 acres behind Memorial Lake Park for 5 thousand dollars.

Alcohol Seminar Planned At Firelands Campus
Huron tavern owners, bartenders and cocktail waitresses will gather at Firelands Campus on September 15 and 16 to exchange ideas with medical, judicial, psychological, and therapy leaders about alcoholism. John T. Cunningham of the Tri County Alcoholism Center says the approach is novel in this country and aims to help the one in ten who cannot handle alcohol. He notes the seminar is not a temperance movement and seeks collaboration between treatment centers and the liquor industry to combat a common foe.
