King To Lead Cicero March In Open Housing Push

Civil rights leaders led by Dr. Martin Luther King plan a mass march into Cicero Illinois to press for open housing. A Chicago protest march was set for tonight with Gov. Otto Kerner activating the guard and Sheriff Ogilvie warning that about 2000 troops may be needed to prevent bloodshed.

Celeryville Gift Shop and Greenhouse Hit by Early Fire

A fire at Route 194 gutted the gift shop adjoining the Celeryville Greenhouse early today. Two large rooms a kitchenette and stock were damaged while the main greenhouses remained largely intact. Neighbors and Willard Fire Department responded with flames seen around 5 a.m. and under control by 8 a.m. The cause is not definite but a gas conversion burner installed two weeks ago is suspected. Larry Lawson plans to rebuild.

English bachelor bids farewell with grand QE voyage

Don Richardson, 36, of Oldbury plans a stag party for 80 friends costing 16800 pounds. He chartered a plane to Southampton for the party and will travel aboard the Queen Elizabeth first class to Cherbourg, sipping champagne en route.

Brush Fire Near Dublin and Old State Roads Prompted Fire Call

Norwalk firemen were dispatched at 1:03 a.m. today to a field near Dublin and Old State Roads where a farmer clearing brush had started a blaze. Fire crews reported the area was well barricaded, with no damage or danger.
