Fair Has Its Problems At Yearly Heritage Show
Despite year round effort by fairground staff and participants, issues arose at the fair. Attendance fell from typical 60 000 with 7500 on Wednesday and 8500 Tuesday, while Monday saw 6000 visitors after 4 pm. Reports cite high prices and heat, a fainting incident, and hospital visits. The Agricultural Heritage area faced multiple cancellations and schedule mixups including a damaged piano, goose plucking, and horseshoe demonstrations. The goose plucking was halted after Humane Society concerns. Officials note scheduling delays and vendor displays may help future events.
