State to place flasher signals at Mason Road by September
The State Highway Department will install flashers at the Mason Road and U.S. 250 intersection by the end of September to reduce accidents from EHOVE Vocational School traffic. The EHOVE Board welcomed the decision and noted the intersection will be studied for further safety changes. Also, Bellevue joins the vocational district after no remonstrances were filed, and EHOVE expands with new staff and cafeteria updates amid building plans. Firemen answered a car fire on 64% Glover Street caused by a short in the Hood–battery area. fire was confined to the engine.

Motorist Injures His Leg in Groton Township Crash
Alfred J. Flicker 30 of Bellevue treated for leg injuries after his northbound car collided with a dump truck driven by Clarence B. Brown 41 of Norwalk at the State Route 4 and Portland Road intersection. Brown cited for failure to yield. Brown reported a minor hand injury. Earlier, Billy R. Hatfield 28 of Norwalk struck a Holstein cow on Bogart Road east of Castalia. no injuries to occupants. The cow, one year old, owned by Cyril Kormer of Sandusky.

City Man Accused Of Theft
A 45-year-old Norwalk man was charged with petty larceny after a Kroger manager reported he saw him place two wine bottles in his coat. Ben Hall, 24 Adams St., was arrested and jailed pending a hearing in Mayor's Court tonight. The same day state highway officials said an eight and a half mile section of I 270 would open Monday connecting I 70 West to I 71.
