Norwalk man in hospital after near suffocation in jail cell
Larry W. Durr of Norwalk was arrested on a municipal court contempt warrant then placed in the Norwalk City Jail where he wrapped a wool blanket around his head and stopped breathing. Police revived him with mouth to mouth and chest compressions before he was taken to Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital in critical care. His mother was cited for disorderly conduct at the hospital.

Boy Burned In FireAt Norwalk Garage Incident
An 11 year old Norwalk boy was injured when gasoline used to clean brushes ignited. Billy Lewis 25 League St burned his leg and foot. He was treated at Fisher Titus Memorial Hospital. Father Jack Lewis said Billy and a neighbor boy struck a match near gasoline in the garage. the fire spread to the wall but was extinguished before firefighters arrived.
