Mrs. Madeline K Schostek of Tiffin died August 9 after two years of declining health at age 72. She was born in Norwalk and married Joseph J Schostek in 1927. he died in 1964. Survived by son James and four grandchildren, she was active in St Mary Catholic Church. Services set for Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at St Mary, burial in the parish cemetery. Friends may call Hoffman Memorial from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday with rosary at 7:45 p.m. Tuesday. Carl R Newcomer, 75, of Ashland, died Saturday evening at Samaritan Hospital. A native of Ashland County, he was a retired self-employed truck driver. Survived by two daughters Martha Clifford of Sandborn Indiana and Lucy Hord of Ashland, a son Carl Jr. of Sarasota Florida, two brothers George of Sandusky and William of Norwalk, eight sisters including Ethel Zimmerman of Mansfield and Daisy Harrison of Ashland, plus other listed spouses.

Planes Collide During Landing at Lorain Airport
Two small training planes collided on final approach to Lorain County Regional Airport. Joseph Percy, 55, of Lorain, died. Patty Gilbert, 16, of Oberlin, and Charles Ingersol, 32, of Amherst, were hospitalized in serious condition. Gilbert piloted one Cessna 150. Ingersol was the flight instructor with Percy in the other.
