Youth shot to death in Rochester
Michael D. Blanton 16 of Rochester died from gunshot wounds suffered at the Ed Martin residence in Rochester. Lorain County Coroner and Sheriff detectives investigate. He lived in Rochester, born in Sandusky, worked for Nesbitt Red Rose Co., a New London High student. Survived by parents, four sisters, a brother. Funeral 2:30 p.m. Saturday Fitchville Church of Christ. viewing tonight and Friday at Eastman Funeral Home.

Norwalk Awards Parking Lot Contract to A J Riley
A J Riley of Norwalk won the bid for the West Main and South Hester Streets city parking lot. His $29 374 asphalt bid was the lowest for complete lot construction except for meter installation. Meters may be removed if the citywide plan proceeds. The Norwalk Board of Control also awarded two street repaving programs to S E Johnson Co of Maumee.

Youths Injure Boy After Bicycle Refusal
A 14 year old and a friend were assaulted when they refused two youths who asked to ride their bicycles. Daniel Winkler reported a head lump from the attack at his home on Grove Avenue. Police said the two attackers may contact the Winklers for restitution. A separate report notes Mrs Skillicorn’s white leather purse stolen from a car at Fisher Titus Hospital. Dennis Corrigan’s home on 10 South Pleasant Street had two windows broken with rocks, Tuesday evening.

Minor Accidents Reported at Local Intersections
Police logged several minor crashes Tuesday. At East Main Street crossing a car rolled into Wanda Schnell’s vehicle while Mrs. Harned watched for a train. On East Main near the Square Willie Boone’s car struck Arthur Astarita’s vehicle. At Ohio 18 and U S 20 Leslie Lappin rear ended the stopped car driven by Mrs. Willis Benac.
