Goodbye, Old School at Pleasant Street School
The 85 year old Pleasant Street School is being demolished to make way for a modern, safer building on the same site. Studer Obringer, the New Washington firm, has worked about two weeks on the site where bricks fall now and access is restricted. Only the shell of a second story classroom remains as rainwater and dust fill the area. An old chalkboard shows a 1927 English assignment and a note as a reminder of the past. A second story window frame is pulled down by workers, contributing to the rubble.
